Photos from July '06 - Our first week with Tobias
On July 18th we first met Londale, soon to be known as Tobias, whom we'd first heard about at the beginning of our Persiko family visit in Colorado at the end of May. Here is Geoff holding him on our first visit with him, at his foster family's house:
The next day, Craig visited him and took him in the car to a nearby bookstore and restaurant, then back to the foster family:
On our third visit, he came to our house for the first time, and took a nap on my chest:
That night, our friend Madeline came to dinner (she was in town from Sydney for a conference.) Serafina took this picture:
On Friday we had a brief visit before work, then on Saturday July 22nd, Serafina finally got to meet him. While we were visiting with the foster family, Toby's foster mom Carmen braided Serafina's hair. Serafina, Toby, and I spent the whole morning and early afternoon together:
Sunday we did the same, and then Serafina and I went to a classmate's birthday party at Fort Mason, and afterword watched crabs on the rocks with classmate Henok:
On Tuesday the 25th, Tobias moved in with us:
On Friday the 28th Serafina and I had a good day with Toby, and she got her hair braided more elaboratly by Carmen when we took Toby there for a visit. On Saturday, July 29 we had a party in our backyard celebrating Geoff's birthday and Tobias' arrival. Carmen and several members of her family came, too. In this first picture, Serafina is playing hide and seek:
On Sunday the 30th, we went to a birthday party for 2-year-old Sarah:
Later that day Serafina got to ride the merry-go-round with Marty, Shelli, and Sadie, while Toby visited Carmen and family, and Geoff and I got a little adult time:
