Welcome to 7 Miles to Kingston, a historic, colonial stone house appointed with comfortable modern conveniences.

This 300-year-old house has been fully restored in-keeping with the integrity and elegant detail of the original structure.

The house was built by an influential cattle farmer of the time. The property was first established with the barns now surrounding the house, and the home was later built and extended over the years. In time, the property was used as a local inn for weary travelers and eventually converted back into a family home. An antique mile marker in front of the property dates back to the early days of the house, carved with the words "Seven Miles to Kingston", and still points travelers along their way.

The comfortably spacious chef's kitchen is filled with modern appliances, including a 6-burner Viking range and Bosh dishwasher. The wide plank floors, enormous fireplace (working) and farmhouse sink lend historic context to feast-making.

The current owner has restored the walk-in fireplace in the kitchen, along with installing an energy efficient heating and cooling system to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Just another example of how the house blends historic and modern.

From the kitchen, flow through to the generous dining room. The dining room sits ten people for some fantastic dinners and festivities on a beautiful dining table made out of maple.

And on to the living room! Here you'll find the fireplace (for décor only) and a Vico Magistretti for Cassina leather sofa to relax, read, or watch a film on the video projector with a pull down screen. The sun room has vintage wooden table to sit ten people, and ceiling fans to give it a nice breeze in summer.

The master suite has a king bed and en suite bathroom with clawfoot tub. The guest wing has three additional bedrooms - two queen rooms and one room with twin beds. There is a common sitting area outside of the rooms, along with a shared bathroom.

Behind the house with a panoramic view of the Catskills is the saltwater swimming pool. The patio and lounges encourage guests to enjoy the warm weather, grill and catch up with friends and family. There is also a Sauna and an outdoor shower to enjoy. There are six acres of land surrounding the property, including two barns and the Esopus Creek at the far end where you can go swimming, kayaking and fishing.

The owner runs a small chocolate kitchen from a separate entrance to the basement of the main house and may need access during a guest stay. If so, guests will be notified in advance, and privacy will be highly respected. Check out more about the owner's story here.
