The Home
As you climb the front steps, you’ll notice the lovely woodwork that denotes this home as a shining example of the craftsman style. It features a cedar shake exterior, and a polished wood front porch with tongue and groove ceiling overhead. Double doors lead into the entryway to drop coats and boots, then through a glass door to a formal foyer. You won’t be able to take your eyes off the parquet floors with corner inlays that feature throughout the first floor.
The living spaces on the first floor are comfortable and welcoming. Blue and gray tones throughout the home amplify the natural light that comes streaming through the windows. Gather for a meal around the dining table for six, and then find a comfortable seat in the formal living room, and light a fire in the functioning wood fireplace. The remodeled kitchen leads to a powder room and backyard. When the weather is good, take advantage of the outdoor dining table, and beautifully landscaped fire pit.
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms with cozy queen beds. Each has plenty of closet space, which is great if you take advantage of a longer-term rental here. In addition, there is a small entertainment room with a futon and smart TV. The main bathroom is found here on the second floor, done in a classic style of black and white tile and silver fixtures, with a full-size tub and shower.
If you’re staying a while, or if you must log on, the third floor hosts a formal office, with no distractions from the goings on below. A leather lounger and oversized desk provide the perfect setting for reading a book or starting yours.
Just down the block, you’ll find views of the Hudson River and the Newburgh Beacon bridge, belying your convenient location to all the dining, drinking, and exploring that is available nearby during your stay at East End Cottage.
