Getting Around
Johnson Vermont is one hour from Burlington Vermont and you can take multiple routes to get there. The house is just two min from the center of Johnson, Vermont. Johnson is just a quick drive to Stowe on Route 100 or to Smugglers Notch in Jeffersonville on Route 15.
Vermont in general has a large percentage of dirt roads and dirt driveways. While we do our best to ensure that the roads and driveways are clear and passable, we cannot guarantee easy access to each property without a proper vehicle that has either AWD or 4WD and is equipped with proper snow tires. Please plan transportation according to the season.
GOING TO THE MOUNTAIN: To go to Stowe Mountain Resort the fastest route is to take the back road and avoid the traffic on Mountain Road. From VT-100S, once you’re getting close to Stowe take an immediate right at The Shaw’s onto West Hill Rd for 0.7 miles, turn left onto Mayo Farm Rd for 0.5 miles, turn left onto Weeks Hill Rd for 0.3 miles, turn right onto VT-108/Mountain Rd for 6.9 miles. Arrived.
However, if you don’t want to pay for parking, we recommend the following options:
Park at one of the free lots closest to the mountain. There are two options, the Cross Country Center (5281 Mountain Road, Stowe) lot or the Toll House Lift Lot which is on your left as you get close to the mountain (but get there really early!). Once there’s enough snow and this lift is running you won’t have to take the shuttle to main lodge you can just ride the lift from there.
Or, the best approach is to follow the directions above to the mountain, but once on Weeks Hill Rd, just before you turn right onto VT-108/Mountain Rd, see Stowe Events Field on your left. Park and catch the shuttle (667 Weeks Hill Road, Stowe).
Everything you need to know about parking can be found at www dot parkstowe dot com
The rules, QR code for paying ahead, and the Mountain Rd Shuttle schedule and stops. Please review it carefully and really familiarize yourself with the system so your visit is as stress-free as possible.
