We enjoyed our stay in this pristine, beautifully restored Vermont farmhouse over Thanksgiving. Terrific kitchen for cooking, comfortable beds, and the outdoor sauna was amazing. And while the hosts weren’t responsible for the weather, we had a perfect snowfall, which made the fireplace even cozier.
We spent Thanksgiving week at the house and had a wonderful time. Everything is just as described. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We loved sitting and eating in the great room with the wonderful views. The two floors worked out well, with our daughters staying upstairs and my husband and I staying downstairs. The location is great. The house is a short drive to multiple towns, lakes and trails. There is much to do in the area. We took trips to the Berkshires to see the Norman Rockwell Museum and hike the Bash Bish Falls trail. Explored the nearby Olana State Historical Site, home of Frederic Church. Enjoyed eating at the Stissing House, in nearby Pine Plains. Red Cottage was very responsive and helpful. We had to delay our return flight due to a winter storm, and Red Cottage was able to accommodate our request to stay another night. We highly recommend staying here.
Property is slim to none, just as described. This was an architects dream to say the least. Host was extremely responsive and addressed all concerns. The amenities were wonderful and well thought out. I would highly recommend this property and will be returning in the future. The Red Cottage Group is 100% worth the 5 stars here.
We had a wonderful stay at this home during our ski trip. The house was clean, cozy, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and the living area was perfect for unwinding after a long day on the mountain. The hosts were extremely responsive and friendly, making everything smooth from check-in to checkout.
We had an amazing stay here. Went with a group of friends and a few kids, and honestly the house had everything we needed. Ping-pong table, arcade games, tons of space… the kids were busy the whole time.
Even though we came during the cold season, we still got to enjoy the fire pit outside — the view from there is incredible. We couldn’t use the pool, of course, and a working jacuzzi this time of year would’ve been perfect (wink wink just a suggestion!).
The house itself is super spacious, clean, and really well set up. The living area was our favorite spot; we ended up not even going anywhere because we were having so much fun just hanging out at the house. The bunk room was a hit too — eight full queen beds, which was great for a big group.
We’d love to come back in the summer and experience it all again in warmer weather. Highly recommend!

We know the area well, but needed extra space for our family over Thanksgiving weekend—and this home was perfect. It was exactly as advertised, beautifully appointed, and offered plenty of room for our family of five. We felt so comfortable that we ended up extending our stay.

Great location in a beautiful area – everything looked just like the pictures and in some ways even better. We did run into a few issues during our stay: the entrance code we received was incorrect, there was no propane when we wanted to use the BBQ, and the fridge stopped working halfway through our visit. That said, the hosts were very responsive and did their best to help resolve each problem quickly. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but there’s definitely room for a bit more attention to these details.
We stayed for 4 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday with another family. In total we had 4 adults and 5 kids all under the age of 10. The downstairs play room was a huge hit with the kids! And the baby gates mounted on the stairs from the main level were perfect for keeping the toddlers contained. The kitchen was well-stocked and all the sleeping spaces were very comfortable. As a bonus, while the listing shows 5 bedrooms there’s an extra empty room on the basement level just off the playroom. It was the perfect spot to set up a travel crib.
Communication with the hosts was smooth throughout. As we were getting ready to pull out of the driveway after checking out our car showed a flat tire. The hosts allowed us to overstay our checkout time by several hours so the kids could be inside while we dealt with getting the car towed and serviced.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend at this Cornwall home and absolutely loved it. The kitchen was equipped beyond our expectations, and there were plenty of extra linens and pillows in the closets. The whole place was so cozy—we felt right at home all weekend. Highly recommend! We would love to be back 🙂
We had a truly wonderful stay! We spent most of our time indoors cooking, and the kitchen was absolutely perfect—well-equipped, spacious, and a joy to use. It made celebrating Thanksgiving especially memorable. The whole place was warm, comfortable, and exactly what we needed for a relaxing holiday getaway. We’d happily stay here again!

The cabin is tucked away from the main street, so it was peaceful and quiet. It even snowed during our stay, which made the surroundings extra cozy and beautiful.

I had a great stay overall! Even though there wasn’t any heat in the basement and one of the showers is down there, the place itself is really charming in both summer and winter. The hosts were super responsive and helpful the entire time. The roads leading up to the property are a bit curvy and can get confusing, but if you’re looking for a quiet, private getaway, this is a great pick. Overall, the place felt very cozy!
This charming property was beautiful, cozy and super comfortable. We have never had Thanksgiving away from home but the kitchen was impeccably organized, superbly well stocked and clean. We so enjoyed the cottage style, warm dining room. Our holiday preparation went smoothly with great results. Stove was chef quality. Rest of home was tastefully furnished and gave us a country home experience with super comfy beds and pillows. We spent most of our family time around the gorgeous fireplace which was also well stocked. We are planning our Spring return visit already!
The house was clean and tidy when we arrived, all of the amenities were perfect. We loved our stay there and it truly looked beautiful when it snowed. Everything was easy to figure out how to use and the manual was very helpful. The mattresses were a little tough but the sheets and pillows were very soft. The view was fantastic!
A truly beautiful home in a peaceful setting. The owners have done an extraordinary job renovating this classic Hudson Valley house, and Red Cottage made checking in and out a breeze. The kitchen was ideally set up for a family holiday, and the living room is the most serene place to sit back, relax, read and unwind from city life. I was also very impressed that Red Cottage responded quickly when we had a concern, even sending out a professional on a holiday to get it fixed. We’ll be back!
We loved the house and really enjoyed our stay. A few things we thought might be a good idea to mention:
We couldn’t find a colander or any baking sheets in the kitchen area
It was a little frustrating that all of the closet space and bathroom drawers in the primary were not available for guest use
Originally I’d reserved the house to include my 95 year old father because it appeared to be one main level for bedrooms and baths. The 4-inch or so riser into both baths would have been an incredible hazard to him had he been able to make the trip. My vision was that we would have helped him up the front stairs and then once in the house he would be able to safely navigate the house from there. I don’t know exactly how to address this in the listing, but for safety’s sake, it would be a good idea to find a solution for that.

The host, Red Cottage, is very friendly and reliable, I have many questions and they answered them very quickly with details. And the communication was very clear and helpful, they gave us good advice on many things.

We had an incredible time at the Red Cottage! Our group of 10 (5 couples) split between the A-frame and the cabin (6 people in the A frame, 4 in the cabin), and both were well-equipped with everything we needed. There was plenty of communal space for all of us to hang out, play games, and chat together.
The hosts were incredibly helpful, proactive, and responsive to all our questions. Both saunas (the infrared and the traditional) were INCREDIBLE and such an amazing add on!)
We can’t wait to return in the summer to enjoy all the outdoor amenities we missed due to the snow, like the grill and firepit. It was truly a magical experience, and we made such lovely memories together. 10/10 would definitely come back!

We had a great stay, and loved how remote we were. There were 6 of us, but we would have been equally comfy with 8. The kitchen was well-equipped for us to cook all of our meals. Beds were comfy. There was plenty of room for us to hang out all together as well as do our own things around the house peacefully.
We loved staying at Hudson Victorian. The location was perfect for access to downtown Hudson and Warren Street. The house was immaculate with a beautiful kitchen, nicely outfitted bedrooms (great sheets and towels). And the house was spotless. As always, appreciate the reliability of booking with Red Cottage.
Our stay was incredible! Every detail of the interior design was beautiful and thoughtful. We enjoyed exploring the local town which was very fun and cute. The beds were comfy, the common space was spacious and cozy. The loved the wood burning stove and it worked perfectly for our needs! The heated floors were amazing. The beautiful stove and oven were pretty hard to use and had some malfunctions but the team was very responsive and helpful. We had a tough time in the hot tub which needed some attention but they did come clean and shock it upon request. I hope to come back!
