Photos truly don’t do this home justice; it’s even more beautiful in person. My family and I had an incredibly relaxing weekend, and the host was attentive, responsive, and a pleasure to communicate with. The hiking trail just five minutes away was a wonderful bonus. We would absolutely stay here again!
The Darby A-frame was our birthday getaway with our little Bichon. The house is spacious and clean; the decor is thoughtful and minimalistic, but sufficient. Every room felt purposefully put together. The indoor sauna was a nice touch on the colder days. The windows all around the house offered a peaceful view of the surroundings, providing the perfect indoor-outdoor experience. But I recommend bringing sleep masks if you like to sleep in as there are no blinds or curtains. Our dog particularly enjoyed the cozy nook next to the kitchen. We spotted some deer and turkeys, which was a nice surprise. We recommend the Homestead Restaurant at the Eldred preserve for days you don’t want to cook or evenings when you’re looking for some craft cocktails. The host was commutative and overall we made some great memories here.
This was about our 7th time staying at a Red Cottage over the past 5 years, and we’ve overall had great experiences. This particular house, Fern Hollow, is our favorite so far. This was our third time staying there. That said, there was a minor issue with what seemed to be a defective glass pane on the fireplace that shattered overnight after just our first tonight. So, unfortunately we lost use of the fireplace for the remainder of our stay. It was also unseasonably cold so we would have really enjoyed having it…
Other than that, this home is maintained impeccably and is a perfect size for us.
I highly recommend Mountain Pines for a getaway of any length of time in Stowe. We stayed with a kiddo, dog and in-laws and we could have fit another couple of people. The views were amazing! The location is a perfect distance to Waterbury, downtown Stowe and a drive through Moscow to the mountain. Jen was super accommodating and responsive. We will most certainly return. And holy cow, the hot tub!!! Don’t question it, just book it!
What a wonderful home to spend a relaxing weekend with family! The house had everything we needed and we appreciated the attention to detail- a fully stocked kitchen, a large collection of games and puzzles, a really nice sound system to play music in various rooms in the house, and a hot tub on the deck that was pristinely clean. And it’s only a 5 minute drive into town. Highly recommend this comfortable and well appointed getaway!
We stayed at Pucky Pines for my sister’s camp themed bachelorette and it could not have been more perfect! The house is gorgeous and spacious. 7 of us fit easily with room for more if needed. We especially loved using the hot tub and the fire pit for making s’mores! The hosts responded very quickly to any questions we had. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials for cooking. 10/10 would recommend for a tranquil getaway!
We used the Onyx A-Frame as a base from which to explore some of the Catskills and the Hudson River Valley. The home is nicely private and rural, but a one-hour drive gets you to a variety of sites. The house is modern, very comfortable, and has everything we needed. The owners were great in facilitating our near last-minute booking.
We had a relaxing stay. Place is comfortable with everything we needed. View was great. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in fall. We could spend hours just zoning out watching eagles flying around. Host is very friendly with quick and great communication. We look forward to trying new places owned by Red Cottage.
The Salt House was a wonderful getaway for my husband and me. The home was exactly as pictured—beautifully designed, clean, and set on a quiet road with lovely views of the natural surroundings.
We especially appreciated the spa-like aesthetic, which created a calm and relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. It truly felt like a peaceful retreat from our everyday routine. We left feeling refreshed and would happily return again.

We rented this home for our family to spend a long weekend at while celebrating our daughter’s graduation from Norwich University. The booking process was super easy and any questions I had were answered thoroughly and promptly. Aside from the home being beautiful, it was fully stocked and equipped with everything to make our stay comfortable. Check in and check out was easy as well. Highly recommend this rental.
This little place is heaven. We used this location for a small styled shoot promoting a wedding dress brand to support a local elopement photographer, as well as a local bridal shop, and we couldn’t have found a better place to fit the vibe. Close to the harbor where most of the shoot took place, clutter free home, clean, everything you need for a cozy getaway, and amazing owners that were easy to communicate with. We would stay here again!
