Our group of 11 adults had an amazing week staying at this Victorian estate! The property is beautiful and the house is large enough that people could have their own privacy. Perfect for a week of grilling/chilling/hiking/fire pits. The kitchen, cleaning supplies, and firewood were all well-stocked. David is thoughtful and super easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!

About the surroundings:
Everything starts with the magestic forest that surrounds the cabin, a quiet, calm, and relaxing environment, with the subtle sound of the river next to it, and the birds waking you up at morning. Plenty space to enjoy the nature, a fire pit, and a colosal family wooden table next to the propane grill. At night, the subtle lightbulbs create the best experience outdoors.
About the cabin:
The cabin is fully renewed with an impressive taste. Two main bedrooms, one upstairs, where the living room and tv area is located, and the second in the main floor. In the first floor, the fireplace and kitchen is an open space full of light and warmth. There is only one bathroom so it worked perfectly for the four of us. The kitchen is fully stocked with high quality appliances, there is a big basement with a fridge, and even a washing machine. The two separated bedrooms gave us great privacy. Be aware that the photos of this place are beautiful, but when you’ll see it with your own eyes is even better.
About the location:
Just two hours upstate from NYC makes this cabin an amazing getaway to recharge batteries. There is a local supermarket with fresh produce just 5 minutes away by car, and a great restaurant and local shops 20 minutes away. This place truly feels that you’re the only one, away from everything and everyone.
What made the difference for us:
I can’t recommend enough this place. Alana was our main host; she made sure to have everything we needed in advance and she kept an open and fast communication through the whole stay.
The house was sparkling clean, and she even wrote a beautiful letter welcoming us. Bathrobes were ready in the bathroom for all of us without even asking for them. At the kitchen, there was a local cider from their friends (delicious by the way!) and local coffee beans that made our mornings even better. I am impressed by the cleanliness of the entire place, and I loved all the small details all around.
I want to thank all our guests for making our stay feel like home; specially to Alana for being such a lovely and amazing host. We will love to comeback in the future, and I hope this review can help others to decide for this cabin, because this house has an amazing soul.

The Tiny House is very lovely, as described, in a beautiful location. It is very close to many great hikes and Vermont adventures as well as farmers’ markets and good food. The house is comfortable and clean and the hosts were very responsive and helpful with any question I had. I recommend staying here!
Karli’s place in Pond Eddy was amazing – we had the most relaxing time at the Darby House. Truly, a beautiful home and great location to unwind and relax. All the amenities (both inside and outside) were perfect and added on top to an already great experience. Karli was a great host with awesome communication and made everything easy. Overall, a great place in a totally private area to relax by the campfire and enjoy some fresh air. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Place was spotless from the bathroom to the hot tub. Gordon made himself available if we needed him which thankfully we didn’t. The view from his house was beautiful especially with the added ambiance from the hot tub and fire pit. We had a great stay. I’d say the only downside was no kitchen but we were only there for the weekend so it didn’t effect us. Would deff stay there again. Oh didn’t I mention how clean it was.
Absolutely amazing spot that I’d highly recommend to any couple looking for some time away. The amenities were perfect and clean. We used the fire pit both nights we were there. The hike at Jamaica State park is a perfect half day to full day hike. It’s not super challenging, but has just the right amount of distance and side trails where you could make it a full day hike. The kitchen in the house is great, as well as the bathroom, and the bed is even super comfortable! Highly recommend!
Little River is the perfect upstate getaway! The cabin is gorgeous – exactly as pictured. We were so impressed with the amount of work Lauren & Steve put into the space (check out their instagram for the before/afters!), every detail is perfect. Arriving to a sweet welcome note and cider from Alana was an unexpected plus 🙂 and falling asleep to the sound of the creek was a perfect ending to every evening. Would definitely recommend!!
Not a bad thing to say about the house and location. We had a small issue with the internet being down when we first got there. Not a big deal normally but we had to work remotely on the upcoming Monday. We reached out to Karli and she was on top of it. She was able to get a technician sent out and made sure we were priority. Great communication through the whole thing, and the issue had nothing to do with their house, just bad luck it happened to be down. Outside of the fantastic communication, the house was secluded and beautiful, it was a wonderful get away! Thanks Karli!
All was very nice, clean & scenic! We were surprised at the lack of hand soaps in the bathrooms & kitchen. I don’t recall seeing anything In description of supplying our own. We also had an issue with the grill, changed to new tank & had issue keeping lit. A bit of a disappointment as it was very much needed at dinner time. Talked with E. Ramos and could not do much for us. Fortunately after letting it set & trying again we got it to work.
Only other issue was description saying kitchen was fully stocked and space for 12 for dining. We had trouble finding enough serving and preparation bowls. All in all however a wonderful (too) short of a family stay we all admitted! Wanted to stay longer:) Thank you Luann & family
Me my wife, 3 kids, niece and dog stayed here for a weekend. We were looking for a place to get away from everything and do it safely. There was so much to do at the estate we never left the property. There is a pool, hot tub, tennis court, bocce court, basketball hoop, it’s own pond with a boat and plenty of hiking. The house was absolutely beautiful filled with lavish amenities. It was so big my kids played hide and seek in the house. It was very pricey, but it had a lot of bang for the buck.
The tiny house is exactly as pictured. It is super clean and has all the amenities you would need. The directions given were spot on, check in was easy and the hosts responded quickly when I had a question. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, relaxing & exploring the surrounding area – hiking in Jamaica state park etc. Would definitely go back!
Little River was the PERFECT spot for a weekend getaway. The pictures do not do it justice! The house is beautifully decorated and the yard is everything you could wish for- the outdoor dining table and firepit were a huge hit with our group. I have already recommended it to all of my friends and hope to be back soon!
My husband and I stayed at the Green Mountain Tiny for our first wedding anniversary and had a wonderful weekend! The home was spotless with great touches throughout and everything was so clean and convenient. We had stayed in a tiny house before and it did not meet our expectations, but the Green Mountain Tiny House far exceeded our hopes! We took full advantage of the kitchen and the great fire pit outdoors as well as the wonderful hiking and site seeing in the area. Would definitely stay again!
Darby House truly is a dreamy, upstate getaway — lots of privacy yet in close proximity to enjoy fun day activities. The home has the perfect combination of cozy touches and modern details. Karli is a great host — responded quickly, left us a lovely bottle of wine and checked in with us to make sure we arrived safely. Such a romantic + relaxing weekend!
We stayed for 5 nights at the Green Mountain Modern House in early-mid October. The setting of the house cannot be beat during this time of year! The property is surrounded by beautiful fall foliage, the stream across the street provides peaceful sounds and the stars at night are truly magical. We had one nice sunny day with temperatures in the upper 70s during our stay and our dog thoroughly enjoyed a romp in the stream.
The house itself was very clean. The kitchen was a joy to cook in (I especially loved the well-seasoned cast iron pans!!). We also appreciated having the washer and dryer since we packed light and needed to do laundry mid-trip.
One thing to note is that the master bedroom is in a loft area, with no walls separating it from the main living area below except for some curtains. The pictures in the listing do show this, but it didn’t register for me how the room was set up until I showed up in person. This wasn’t an issue for us since it was just me, my husband, and our dog. For those that care about privacy, this is something to note.
All in all, we had a great stay. We didn’t need to contact Chris and Lauren at all during our stay, as they left very detailed instructions in their guidebook. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We’d love to come back again during a different season in the future!

The house is great, the activities for all ages wonderful with walks, rowing, pool and amenities. The setting is picturesque especially with the Fall colors. The house was perfectly clean, but we could not find adequate sheets or the shampoo, conditioner and coffee mentioned in the website. We could, of course, easily have brought those perishables had we not been told to expect them.
We could not have asked for more for our two night stay at Eric’s cabin. It is perfectly nestled off of the road for quiet and privacy. It provided a cozy yet spacious environment for us. Our dog especially loved the view that the many large windows provided of the beautiful nature outside. Eric could not have been more communicative and accommodating. Close to many different hiking and restaurant options. This stay will be at the top of our list when we return to Vermont!

We had such an amazing stay at Darby House! The space was stunning with so many thoughtful touches throughout. We loved relaxing by the fire pit, playing music on the Bluetooth speakers, and exploring the surrounding areas with our dog! It was everything we wanted and more – a truly perfect getaway from city life. Thanks Karli!
I stayed for two nights at the Green Mountain Tiny House as I needed some quiet time to write a chapter of my book project. I really enjoyed my stay. The house was super clean with all the needed amenities. The pictures on the page are true to reality. The house is close to food stores, coffee stores, and breweries. There are many accessible trails as well. Would definitely stay again!
I wanted a gateway weekend with my girlfriend when I saw Little River on Airbnb. I knew this is our spot. We spent two nights there and could not have wished for a more perfect time. The cabin was dream-like and we felt at home from the first sight. Thank you, Lauren, Alana, and Steven, for creating such a beautiful haven – and giving us a special place to make memories.
Exceptional place, cannot recommend enough! This beautiful a-frame was nestled in secluded woods, had all the amenities one could want (including a BBQ, fire pit, stocked kitchen). The land surrounding the cabin was really beautiful, and perfect for some exploring. Host was communicative and thoughtful. Thanks!!!
