Beyond the fantastic amenities that this home has to offer (I will get to that in a few), I would say that one of the BEST features is its proximity to NYC. Within a two hour drive, this destination offers an unbelievable escape from the city without having to beach traffic.
The home itself provides all of the comforts of home, plus some. With multiple bedrooms, it can house your whole family (or all of your friends) and offers each member of the family multiple activities ON the premises to keep occupied. Outdoors, there is a pool, spa, basketball court and bocce ball court. Indoors, there is a fantastic gourmet kitchen, game room and multiple comfortable seating areas. It is a perfect spot for groups looking to spend time together, but have enough space and activities to keep everyone busy.
I would highly recommend a stay here.
I cannot say enough good things about this little slice of heaven just miles outside of New York City. We went there for a long weekend with three other couples and had the most magical “fall” weekend I could have ever imagined….I should start by saying I’ve been seeking a ‘Vermont-esque’ place to go during the Fall time for years close to New York City but have yet to find somewhere that does the trick…until now.
Not only is the house beautifully decorated (think mahogany, plaid, fireplaces, large chandeliers, handsome pieces of antique furniture) but it is large enough that each couple felt like they were on their own mini-vacation! We were able to gather in one of the many common areas but also spend time in our own areas without feeling that anyone else was even on the same property.
We spent the weekend antiquing in Hudson, cooking HUGE meals in the gourmet kitchen (and I found the kitchen to be perfectly stocked with appliances, utensils, etc), walking the grounds, sitting by one of the many fireplaces, and enjoying cards or boardgames from the game room.
It was a perfect escape…I was frankly thrilled to not have WiFi access and would have been disappointed to spend the weekend connected when I was surrounded by such beautiful nature!
We are planning to come back this winter for a more romantic getaway but I also think this would be a perfect place to come during the summer season…tennis courts, a pool, pond… a great place all around!
I would highly recommend this house to anyone seeking an escape from the chaos of the city and wanting to disconnect, relax, and enjoy nature. Our weekend was certainly full of laughter, love and memories.
We were looking for the perfect weekend away from the city…. And we found it!!!! We had a great time and look forward to going back next year. We stayed for a long weekend, and our routine was as follows: Hit the hiking trails in the AM or went for a bike ride to the lake. Antiquing and shopping in Hudson in the afternoon and then wine by the fire in the evening. It was perfect! We also ended up going to the Stissing House one night for dinner. Expensive, but well worth it!
Maureen was a great and gracious host (hostess?), responding promptly, clearly, and in a most accommodating way throughout the process and our stay. The home was well-described and nearly perfect for our family. Our overall stay was outstanding and Maureen helped assure that this would happen for us. The kids LOVED the outdoor hot tub, which was ready to go upon our arrival, despite being very cold weather outside. The price and value we got was very fair and the view of Mount Mansfield was outstanding. It snowed often and the driveway was plowed regularly, without our interaction. The home is filled with a generous supply of down (or synthetic) comforters and pillows. The walk-in closets are a huge plus and helped our family stay a little more tidy and organized than may otherwise have been the case.
The house was every bit as wonderful as the pictures show and describe! Everything was clean, orderly, and it felt like home the moment we stepped in the door. The hot tub was especially wonderful after a long day of skiing, even with the temperatures being below zero. The house and the hot tub are all very well maintained and clean. We met a few of the neighbors while out on a walk, and everyone was very friendly. The house is in a great location too!

My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful weekend at this lovely home. Complete privacy and the grounds are breathtaking. The photos for this listing don’t do the property justice. It’s a fabulous place, has a great kitchen and comfy bedrooms. I especially fell in love with the fireplace and lighting fixtures. Can’t wait to go back again!!
This is one of the best Airbnb places I’ve stayed at. Everything was in very good condition and exactly as advertised. The house, especially the kitchen, is excellent for a large group. And it is well located, not far from Stowe village and the mountain. Jennifer was a good and responsive host. I would definitely return here again in the future.
THIS HOUSE WAS MAGICAL! Ten close girlfriends who live scattered all over the country rented the entire property for a long weekend and barely left. We had dinner reservations for one night and cancelled them because we couldn’t bear to leave the house. From the crisp and clean patterned sheets, large open kitchen, and extra long dining table to the teepee, private pool, hammock, and manicured grounds, we wanted for nothing. We are already planning our reunion!
The home was absolutely beautiful, just as described and as seen in the pictures and also by all other reviewers. The location was wonderful – close enough to everything, yet private enough to enjoy the serenity. The amenities were top notch, and what you would expect to go along with the quality of the home. The home is meticulously maintained and everything was perfect! We spent 3 nights and 4 days and certainly could have enjoyed the home for much longer!
If you think Stowe is for fall/winter only, think again! We rented this lovely home for two weeks in August and everyone was sad to leave. The setting is beautiful and it’s close to Stowe, Waterbury and Burlington. The house itself is well-appointed and comfortable and the kitchen is outstanding.
Both the homeowner and the property manager were incredibly nice and responsive. Jennifer and Elaine, many thanks to both of you for helping to make the rental process easy, and our time in Stowe memorable.

Gordon was a gracious host. He opened his home to us with generosity and true hospitality. It is clean, functional, pretty, comfortable..and he clearly left instructions on how to use everything from the coffee pot to the hot tub! He helped us find the most beautiful walk in the woods to a waterfall. It was spectacular. Thank you Gordon!
We had an amazing weekend! The location is fantastic with easy access to Stowe and Waterbury. Jen was an incredible host, and the concierge service was extremely helpful. Last, but certainly not least, the hot tub was a great addition to the house! I highly recommend staying here and will be back for future visits!
We could not have had a better house for our Christmas in Stowe. Jennifer’s house was beautiful, and even better than advertised. The best part was probably the amazingly fitted our kitchen with any piece of equipment you could ever need. The rest of the house was beautifully furnished and super clean. The bedrooms were very spacious and we loved having 3 bathrooms. The separate tv room was also a treat. We also loved the hot tub. The house was also ideally situated close to Stowe village and not far from the mountain for skiiing. All in all, everything was perfect. Very impressed. Will definitely come back if we ever visit Stowe again.
We had an amazing family vacation at Jennifer’s. The house is very comfortable, clean, fully stocked with everything you need and more. The hot tub is awesome, the kitchen is open & fun for group integration. The location is perfect, close to town and the mountain, yet out of the main congestion. Large windows for great views and sunlight. Jennifer was prompt on all communication from start to finish. It is better than shown and described. Highly recommend this AirBnB. Jen was super communicative from the very beginning. Our plans changed last minute and we needed an extra day and it was no issue for her. The house is gorgeous. It fit (comfortably) our whole group and had plenty of things to keep us occupied: beautiful kitchen for cooking, hottub, games, big comfy couches. You’re about 20 minutes from Stowe resort, which is where we spent most of our time. After a long day of skiing, we were happy to have such a nice place to retreat.
First trip up to Stowe with a few friends to get some skiing in. Gordon and Josee were an absolute treat to have as hosts. They were constantly in communication making sure any questions we had were answered before our departure to their place and were overly accommodating when we arrived. The rooms and space was exactly as described (truly amazing views) and left us needing nothing. This has turned into our go-to when skiing Stowe and a great place to stay any time of the year.
Both Gordon and his wife made my family feel very welcome in their beautiful home. It is obvious that they care about their guests and want them to feel comfortable. They were very helpful and accommodating: always available to answer any questions and make sure that we were enjoying our stay. The place itself is very cozy, clean and nicely decorated. The mini fridge was stacked with freshly cut fruits and snacks. The views are amazing and the location is in close proximity to the ski resort/hiking. I definitely recommend staying at Gordon’s place and would love to visit again!
We had an amazing time in Stowe at Gordon’s airbnb. From the moment we got there, Gordon and his family were friendly and extremely accommodating – giving us local tips, providing delicious baked goods and coffee for breakfast, and always making sure we had everything we needed!
The place itself is really clean, well furnished and comfortable. The view of the mountain was beautiful, as promised. Our favorite part was the awesome hot tub in the back – perfect after a day of skiing. We really enjoyed our stay in Stowe, and would love to come back soon!

Camella was a wonderful host. She was responsive to our group’s questions and had a great list of recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. The home was spectacular, spacious and cozy. My friends and I are looking forward to returning for another long weekend.
The home’s location is ideal as it’s a very short drive to Hunter and Phoenicia. Half of our group skied/snowboarded and the other half explored the charming shops in town. It was a memorable weekend!

Gordon is a phenominal host. Prior to our arrival a packet of information was sent outlining directions to the property and instructions on how to use the amenities. When we arrived Gordon was there to show us around and make us feel right at home. So much so, that we even commented that our stay felt more like a bed and breakfast than your typical AirBnB rental. We look forward to future visits!! Thanks again for everything, Gordon. We shall see you again!
We had a fantastic experience staying at Jen’s home. The house is just as described: well-appointed, very clean, spacious, with excellent views of the mountains. Both Jen and her property manager were very welcoming and also very responsive. We needed the driveway sanded the first morning, for instance, and they had it taken care of soon after we notified them. The second morning (after snowfall) the driveway was plowed at 6:30, leaving more than enough time for us to get to the mountain worry-free. An easy drive from Stowe and a really perfect place for a getaway. We were two families with two adults and two young kids each and all found what we needed here. High recommend.
Gordon provided us with a truly comforting and hospitable place to reside during our first ski trip to Stowe. He was a great host, always making sure that we had enough breakfast goodies and fresh towels. The place was clean and the perfect size for our group. Between the kitchenette and outdoor grill, we had more than enough to store some food and make a meal here and there. Gordon not only gave us useful tips for the mountain but also for non-ski activities on the one warm and rainy day of our trip. The hot tub and ice hockey that we enjoyed on the backyard pond were also added benefits for our crew!
I stayed at Gordon’s place with my wife and another couple for 2 nights. Gordon was so easy to work with, very friendly and very informative. We are all very familiar with the area so we didn’t need any help or tips for getting around, but Gordon was definitely willing to be as helpful as we needed. After welcoming us and showing us around, he definitely respected our privacy.

Gordon and Josee warmly welcomed us despite our booking being very last minute. The house was beautiful, the views of Stowe fantastic, and the basement (which is the Airbnb part) was perfectly equipped for a night away snowboarding with friends. The breakfast provided was a lovely surprise, the muffins were amazing!
This our 2nd time staying at this beautiful home, and once again, as expected everything was fantastic. The house is extremely well cared for, we noticed several improvements that made it even nicer than last year – which was hard to beat! The house has virtually everything (including a notebook with helpful instructions how to use), I’m jealous that it’s easier to find all the utensils and serving pieces to prepare and serve meals than it is at my own house (an instruction manual in my house would be helpful too)! In addition to our July 2017 vacation we will be adding a winter trip as well. 1 day after our trip we already cant wait to get back to this beautiful home and location!
Jen was very helpful before the stay giving great suggestions of things to do and places to eat. The place felt like a home away from home with easy access to surrounding sites in Stowe. We were on a girl’s weekend of mom, daughters, and granddaughters and all of us enjoyed the amenities the house had to offer. A wonderful and relaxing getaway!
We had a wonderful stay at the Stowe House! Everything was immaculate and all our needs were met. The house was inviting and spotless and our entire family enjoyed staying there. It’s tucked away in the woods so you have total privacy but conveniently located next to downtown. By the end of our visit our toddler was referring to it as “our new house”. We hope to be back for ski season! Thanks Jen for the wonderful hospitality.
