Beautiful home in a beautiful setting. Check-in was easy. We especially enjoyed the outdoor patio space (great bird watching) and the screened-in porch. The property is absolutely gorgeous–it is a nature-lover’s paradise. The hot tub, firepit, and outdoor shower were also great features. The kitchen is very well appointed, and the whole house was clean and filled with lovely natural light. We will definitely be coming back!
We had the most amazing couple’s weekend at Bluestone Cove! The cabin is just as beautiful as the photos! The opulent vegetation surroundings made us feel like we were in our own private slice of nature. Everything in the house is thoughtfully designed for comfort and style.
We especially enjoyed the spacious kitchen, which was stocked with all type of cookware we needed to prepare delicious meals. We also enjoyed cozying up by the fireplace in the evenings.
The hosts were responsive and welcoming, making our stay stress-free from start to finish. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our next visit.

Spectacular views from the wrap around deck at Red Cottage. The location was very private and peaceful. The kitchen was large and had everything you need to cook anything. The house was clean and comfortable. The WiFi was very good. The hot tub was relaxing. The hosts were very responsive. We very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again.

The back patio was a highlight—the hot tub, fire pit, and seating were all in great condition. The location is totally private and peaceful, the grounds are well-kept, the beds big and comfortable, and the bathrooms are updated. A/C worked great and the wall of windows in the main room was even better.
I had seen that previous guests commented on stains, and yeh—the couches, chairs, rug, and even my comforter were all pretty marked up—but everything was clean all the same.
Future guests may want to bring towels—there were two bath towels provided per bedroom, but nothing for the hot tub nor any washcloths. (our party requested more but nothing materialized after the initial response). The kitchen is stocked well for eating and the appliances were in good shape. Fry pans need replacing.
The only check-out duty is a graciously simple “take out the trash.” Overall, I’d recommend the place and would be happy to stay again.

This AirBNB was absolutely beautiful. The inside of the home is beautifully updated with many modern amenities while keeping the charm of an old home. It had everything we needed while there. My son (4yo) loved the selection of toys available! I would say that the beds were not the most comfortable but that was really the only negative and most AirBNBs have this problem. The surroundings were beautiful, lots of farm land. There was some construction going on nearby to no fault of the owner. We would definitely recommend!
The house is beautiful and the view is magnificent! It looks just like the pictures showed. Every detail was thought of. It felt like home. So many great touches like cool candles everywhere, games, great smelling soap etc. The work area, home fitness and downstairs was perfect. We sat outside for hours and just enjoyed the home in the mountain. During the day you can see there are some houses nearby, but at night it feels pretty isolated. Was perfect for what we needed. The house is a real getaway and there are many hikes nearby. Would love to come back!
We had a fantastic time in Maine! It took us a minute to get used to tiny living with our family of 3 + 2 small dogs, but once we did it was incredibly refreshing to realize what little we actually need to be happy. We spent time at Pineland Farms (highly recommend! Just 10 mins away) and in Portland (20-25 mins away). Go lobstering with Lucky Catch! Such a blast. 🙂 The house was cozy and clean. We loved having a bonfire and looking up at the stars at night. We can’t wait to come back!
My family and I had a great time at the library retreat in Pine Plains! The property was gorgeous and great for our large family. There were a few things that could be improved — there were several wasps nests around the property and a few of us got stung! The rental team was very responsive and someone came out the next day to spray them. We also noticed there were some bats living in one of the chimneys! Luckily they didn’t get into the house, but it was a bit unsettling. The listing also stated there were 4 queen sized beds and 2 doubles, but we found out there were actually 3 queen sized beds and 3 double sized beds, which was difficult with the number of and height of our fam! Accurate information in that regard is appreciated. Another suggestion is to install curtains/blinds to all the bedrooms. Some bedrooms did not have any kind of coverings. We also wished there was more outdoor furniture to enjoy. The scenery was beautiful but there were no tables or chairs on the patios. Otherwise the houses were all beautifully decorated and maintained. The rental team was very responsive to any questions we had, which was great. Overall it was a great family vacation spot!
A stylish peaceful space. An ideal place to relax and unwind for a few days. The house had everything we needed and more and we totally enjoyed our two nights stay. Host was responsive and the whole process was faultless. Thankfully they advised us to download info as cell phone reception is spotty. This came in handy.
We wanted to find a place where my scattered family of 5 busy adults could reconnect and this property was perfect for us. We’d love to come back! Check-in was beyond easy and communication with the property managers both before and during our two week stay was great. The neighborhood is very quiet and the cabin is set back from the street so you really feel you’re living in the woods. It was so clean it sparkled and its various levels are even more beautiful than the photographs show. The kitchen is well-stocked and the gas grill made for easy dinners. Kayaking and swimming were perfect during some of the hottest days and it always felt great to return to the house after exploring the area. Things to be aware of: the stairs going down to the first level as well as those leading to the third floor are steep, which may be a challenge for people with mobility issues; the house is deep in a wooded area so you may be driving a lot and once you leave the house, wifi and GPS may be limited in your car until you are out of the community; finally, the path to the kayaks is also very steep. Sturdy rubber-soled water shoes recommended!
We enjoyed our stay at the Highland House. The home was just as pictured—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The kitchen was well-stocked with the basics, making it easy to prepare meals, and the beds were comfortable. The hosts were responsive and helpful, and we appreciated the thoughtful welcome basket with snacks. The location was quiet and convenient for exploring the area. Overall, a pleasant and easy place to stay.
Really great country house. The owner obviously made very specific choices for decor. We loved it, but I would say it’s on the more adventuresome side for sure. The outside is lovely! Pool is fantastic, super clean. A lot of space and they have a tennis court. The area is really nice. Close to the city, but you really feel away from everything. The house was very clean and they had everything you need like shampoo, body wash, towels, etc. Kitchen also well stocked. We had a small issue outside and the management company was fast to act on it and they made it right with us when they couldn’t fix something during our stay. Would definitely rent this place again.
Our stay was great! A few recommendations to make the place awesome:
– the access to the water is very treacherous (steep and muddy even though it hadn’t rained in days). It would be impossible to safely carry down the canoe. To let guests have better access to this I would recommend putting in gravel/rocks or wood steps into the hill.
– wine glasses!! We couldn’t find any in the home.
– the remote for the tv was dead. I think it’s solar powered but it wasn’t working even after putting in sun
– a screen door to the porch would be amazing. We wanted to keep bugs out and the glass door is soooo heavy to open and close all the time
– we weren’t able to get the tiki torches to light for the bug repellant – may have been user error though.
Otherwise we had a wonderful stay!!
If you’re looking to escape the city and immerse yourself in nature, the Red Cottage is ideal! The house is stunning, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The pool is a fantastic bonus- we spent hours relaxing by it. The surrounding area is peaceful and quiet, perfect for unwinding. The host was incredibly responsive and made our stay seamless, answering all our questions promptly. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.
A very enjoyable stay for our family annual vacation. The house could easily accommodate 8-9 adults, 2 kids under 7 and 2 dogs. Biggest plus of the house was its easy walk to the Saco River through a lovely meadow. Communication with host was easy – they were very responsive to our needs.

We had a great experience at the Red Cottage. The amenities were as stated. The kitchen and living area was laid out beautifully. The appliances were all high end and everything you would need was there at your fingertips. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Always love having a washer and dryer, and theirs was top end. The house is an upside down house with the bedrooms on the bottom and living space on the top floor. Upstairs was light filled with big picture windows to bring in the light and great wooded views. A perfect house for a stay and we would highly recommend it and return again if we are in the area.
