Lovely cottage. Visited during the winter so no one else was in the area. Felt very private and quiet.
My family and I had such a relaxing stay. We’ve stayed with Red Cottage at another listing before so we were comfortable and confident booking with them again. My kids had so much fun with all the toys at this location. Also really loved the big yard especially since it snowed while we were there. We arrived on Thanksgiving Day and found that the driveway wasn’t shoveled. We understood it was a holiday, but Red Cottage was quick to respond via text and sent someone over next day early in the morning. Recommend booking with this host!
We spent Thanksgiving at the Library Retreat, and enjoyed a nice family reunion there. Red Cottage was always extraordinarily responsive, especially when the water pump failed unexpectedly over the holiday weekend — they were able to send people out to try to address promptly. We appreciated how Red Cottage went out of their way to ensure they did what they could given the circumstances. We would recommend an updating of the sleeping arrangements that are described/listed, and what is found at each of the houses, so guests can better prepare to bring what they need. We also highlighted a few cleanliness considerations that Red Cottage ought to address. But overall, we were grateful to spend the time there and very complimentary of Red Cottage’s management.
My family a total of 7 adults and a baby stayed in this home during Thanksgiving to visit local relatives. The home was everything in the listing and more. This beautifully decorated home was very spacious, clean, with lots of work spaces, loved the layout, fabulous open concept kitchen/living area and an additional outside living area just fabulous. The host was gracious to any questions we had. We hope to come back to this home as it was a perfect fit for our family. Thanks again Red Cottage!!
Yes, this place is even more beautiful than the pictures. Dramatic and unique space. Very comfortable. Even with very open common spaces, we had people watching TV in one area, crafting in another and reading in yet another area. We cooked an entire Thanksgiving meal in the well equipped kitchen. Loved the two dishwashers. Road is quiet. Could take a walk right from the front door down the road. Very comfortable beds, nice linens and towels. Highly recommend.
Our snowy Thanksgiving stay at the Red Cottage property was magical. The house was beautiful, extremely clean, comfortable, well stocked, and airy, with plenty of windows to let in outside light and provide 360 degree views of the property and its landscape. The hosts were very responsive to questions and concerns. The house was easy to find, close Livingston Manor and its shopping and dining opportunities, and provided easy access to other local attractions. The whole stay deserves an enthusiastic five star rating! Both we and our son and his wife would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

We arrived Friday evening in the dark after over a foot of snow fell. The driveway was plowed and all the walkways were shoveled, even out to the hot tub where we enjoyed morning mimosas while it snowed!
The property is nestled in the trees, tranquil and secluded, a winter wonderland!
The house was clean, comfortable, spacious, and well-represented in the photographs.
The kitchen was well-equipped, and Wi-Fi was easily accessible.
The location was perfect for us, centrally, situated between Liv Manor and Callicoon.
My only recommendation is to provide floor mats at the front and back doors, especially during the snowy season.
Red Cottage provided great communication before our arrival suggesting what to do in inclement weather, and was immediately responsive throughout our stay. They were very honorable hosts!

Great stay wonderful experience highly recommend ,I had a fantastic stay at Half Moon Mountain House.The space was exacly as described clean,comfortable and well equipped ,such a cozy decor,peaceful view.I had a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Salt House. Super cozy and comfortable inside and the decor is dialed down to the little unique details, like the antique dresser bathroom vanity. Location is a bit out of the way but very quiet and peaceful. The hosts are super nice as well and their local recommendations are spot on! 10/10 would recommend staying here.
Property as described. Communication with owners was quick and easy for anything we needed. Having the use of the fireplace in the old farmhouse was great on a cold winter weekend. Would definitely stay again.
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful Stowe home in December. The standouts were the unparalleled kitchen with its appliances and tools available, the beautiful yard with its snowy tree/mountain views, the number of games and books, and the clean bedrooms.
The drive into Stowe is really short and so nice to be a little distance away and have your own space. The kids (and even adults) so enjoyed the fresh snow, made a snowman, etc in the beautiful yard.
We love to cook together on vacations, so having the well stocked clean kitchen / dining area and fireplace was so so cozy. The number of games and books available was also amazing! We took advantage of that as well.
They also provide plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and laundry detergent so these little touches really made the stay even more relaxing. No worry about running out or washing towels during our slightly longer stay.
We will definitely be back next time we are in Stowe.
