Was looking for a quite, secluded place for friends to get together, relax and enjoy a long weekend. The cabin more than meet our expectations and we were in no way disappointed.
We had a wonderful weekend stay at this cozy lake house in upstate NY. The home is beautifully designed and provided a comfortable, warm atmosphere. The location by the lake is incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. Communication with the host was seamless and prompt, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!
The road the house is located on has no sign and looks more like a driveway. I drove around for a moment before I recognized the house from the pictures. If I’d been arriving in the dark it would have been more difficult. Not their fault but should probably be mentioned to future guests. Otherwise it was a delightful house and in great condition. I’d stay there again.
We went with a few friends and the property was spectacular! My wife and I brought our son, and another couple brought their young daughter. Red Cottage accommodated all of our additional requests (highchair, pack and play, etc.). We really enjoyed our time there and the panorama view is incredible. It’s in reasonable driving distance to a lot of great hiking spots and popular towns. If the property is available, we will definitely be back to visit!
Beautiful space in quiet surroundings. Loved the sauna (make sure you turn it on about 1 hour before you want to jump in, in order to allow it to really heat up). Appreciated the plentiful cookware, utensils, nespresso machine, towels. Elegant and serene design that looks exactly like the pictures. Thank you for a nice stay.
This was our first visit to Maine! As we were planning and looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to get away, we found this sweet home and it was just the right fit! The Salt house was a really beautiful, cozy and lovely place to stay!
Each morning we spent sleeping in, reading, drinking coffee, making breakfast and relaxing before heading out to some of the nearby towns. This home was perfect for two and a great place to stay if need feel like you’ve gotten away for a moment.
We had a great time getting to travel around the area and explore, go to galleries and shop local businesses. One of our days we spent in Acadia which was only about an hour of a drive and so worth the while. But also there were also some equally as beautiful natural views so close to area where this home is located.
Instructions are very clear, getting checked in was easy, and our host was very helpful and very quick to respond to all of my questions and needs. I was very appreciative of them.

This property was relaxing and beautiful, with walkable access to town (with many great restaurants) and walking paths across the street, which was perfect for our dog. Our host were very proactive with communications and responsive. The support team that visited during our stay were always friendly and on time. My friends and I normally don’t get to vacation a lot due to our busy lives. Red Cottage opened us with welcome arms. Plenty to do. Lake was amazing especially with the paddle board. Spotless place and very cozy. The surroundings were beautiful and the hot tub was a nice treat when it was chilly. I’d buy this place in a heartbeat if I could. Thank you again for hosting us!

Beautiful house! One bedroom on each level. The twin beds are in the basement, the queen bed on the main floor, and the master suite up on the loft. It was a great layout for our group of 6! The location is far enough away that it is extremely peaceful at night, and the views of the lake were beautiful! I would definitely stay here again.

We had a nice cozy stay in the first few days of November. I did a lot of local fly fishing and that was wonderful with perfect fall conditions. The place has everything – the upstairs is super cool. The wrap-around deck was nice with gates, so we didn’t worry about our dog. I’d say the place would get tight if there are more than 4 people, simply because the seating in the kitchen is tight and so is the seating in the living room. However, in the warmer months with the way the deck is designed with a big picnic table and grill, it would be much more spacious. Overall, it was exactly what we were looking for in a fall getaway weekend.
We celebrated a special family weekend at this house, which is well situated near a number of lovely small towns. We were 6 adults and 3 children with plenty of space for everyone. The large windows looked out at the beautiful Fall fields that surround the house. We used the kitchen, which was well stocked with spices and utensils, to make 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners. Beautiful towels, sheets and lots of paper goods.

It’s hard to say just a few words about this magnificent place. The house has every lovely detail that you could ever want- design, decor, use – all perfect. And it feels like a home. Again, spectacular details. Great books, interesting selection of games, good lighting, plenty of dishes and glassware. Loved the stove and oven! The view is breathtaking, the temperature was always right with the heated bathroom floors and the climate control, the furniture was comfortable. My husband will probably get tired of me raving about the pantry and the refrigerator, but – wow! So cool. They have created something very special and I just feel so grateful that I got to experience such an interesting place. Many thanks for a delightful family stay.
The Hidden Pond was a perfect stay to celebrate me and my partner’s engagement! We loved getting away to so much private and having so many options for activities at the house. We dipped in the pond for a cold plunge, paddle boarded, soaked in the jacuzzi, hiked the trails, rocked on the hammock, ate apple cider donuts from a local shop, took some quality naps on the sectional, and made delicious home cooked meals. This house is a home!
Stunning interior, gorgeous view. 10 minute drive to great restaurants and lots of things to do in the vicinity. But you might just want to stay in and soak up the vibes the whole time.
My family and I had an amazing time. House was straight from a postcard or a luxury magazine. It’s tucked in and private but we never felt unsafe. Just be sure to get all you need like groceries before you get there as closest Walmart is about 25 mins. Kitchen and bathroom spotless and fully equipped. Anything you can think of was there. We cooked full meals and a bbq. Beds were comfortable no one in our party had any complaints. Even though the house is pet friendly it didn’t smell like dog. The views were gorgeous, the outside patio was very cozy with enough games to play for the whole family. The only downside was that there was a wildfire alert so we weren’t able to use the fireplace which was supposed to be the highlight of our trip but atleast we had the jacuzzi which was spotless as well. The host was good at communicating throughout the stay. Expensive but I had a good birthday 🙂
