My friends and I had a wonderful stay at the Red Cottage! The home itself was very cozy and stocked with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the wood burning stove and sauna! The remote surroundings and views were truly breathtaking. It snowed almost our entire trip and we truly felt like we were in our own little winter wonderland.
Our Red Cottage stay was everything we could have asked for and more. The home is architecturally stunning with so much personality. We made great use of the stacks of games, records and beautiful kitchen ware and stocked pantry. The property was extra magical in the snow. Cannot recommend more highly!
We booked this cabin for a surprise proposal for our friend, and it was absolutely the perfect place. The pictures truly don’t do it justice — the property is stunning in person. The decor and atmosphere were incredibly cozy yet worldly, creating such a special vibe for the entire stay.
The cabin had everything we needed, to the point where we didn’t even feel the need to leave. We cooked all of our meals, spent quality time in the different living spaces, and even enjoyed the hot tub while it was snowing. It was an unforgettable experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better setting. Would love to be back during the different seasons.

WOW! What a perfectly lovely little cabin! It was like staying in a postcard from Courier and Ives. My girlfriends and I had the best possible stay in this beautiful cabin surrounded by snow and forests, yet also so close to great breweries and restaurants. If you’re considering this stay, you won’t be disappointed!
We were a group with two families and the cottage was well set up with bedrooms and a shared bathroom for the parents upstairs, and a common area/bedroom and bedroom with a shared bathroom downstairs. There was plenty of common space with lots to games, and we all loved the hot tub. A really lovely way to spend a long winter weekend.
We stayed here with a large group many of which were architects and interior designers (which is why we settled on this home – design alone!) and this home truly impressed us. The space is beautiful and very thoughtfully done. The amenities checked all of our boxes, and the house was a fantastic place to gather and cook together. Why go out when we had a roaring fire and good food. (though we do we a reservation at the Maker in Hudson every year we come to the area – a must do) Everyone was happy with the beds, bedding etc. I found the communication in advance was very helpful as well (the constant questions of ‘do you have a crockpot, a stand fan etc ‘ …… all the planner questions). Being able to leave without the laundry list of Air Bnb tasks was fantastic as well. We were extremely happy with our stay and would absolutely book again, especially to experience it in a different season and see what it’s like in the summer with use of the pool and outdoor Kitchen !
Great Stay. Place was exactly as advertised. The only suggestion I would make is when guests are arriving at night a porch light be lit, maybe the thermostats set for a warm arrival and that firewood be left in the bin out front for easier access. The house was clean and inviting and spacious and we felt very comfortable and I can see where larger groups can gather there and spend quality tie together. Overall 10/10
The house was really wonderful in many ways! We had a lovely snowy weekend and made good use of the fireplace and hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was a great size. We were only 4 adults and 1 kid, but could have easily fit another family with room to spare. A few little things could have made our arrival a bit better (the wifi password on the email was incorrect, we could have used more instructions on how to use the wood burning stove – we had to make our own kindling, there wasn’t a lighter available but they did have one delivered) but overall those are very nitpicky! Over all it’s a great house and I’d definitely recommend!
When the pictures that you look at online are exactly what you walk into when renting a house, it is perfection. When travelling to Belleyare to snowboard for the day and it only takes 5 minutes to get there, it is perfection. When you go to make a meal and every possible dish and utensil are there, it is perfection. Everything about Owel’s Perch was perfection.
While the particulars of this stay were very unusual, the folks at Red Cottage (and their client) could not have been more helpful, responsive, or gracious. Every message – and there were a LOT – was answered quickly, and every request was considered and accepted. The cabin is a wonderfully simple, clean, and calm place that belies its proximity to the main buildings on the property. It has everything you need, and nothing you don’t. Would have to imagine in the waning days of summer, sitting on the deck with a fire, it would be a spectacular place to see the day off . . .
Had a wonderful stay. Plenty of room for our family of 4 and another family of 4. Kids had a place to be and spread out while the adults were able to get dinners ready, enjoy some adult conversation and unwind. Place was immaculate and had stunning views. The location was just a few minutes down the road from Stowe Mountain and had a spacious garage to accommodate all of our items when we were done skiing for the day. Had to get in contact with Red Cottage and we were answered within a 1/2 hour. Super friendly and wonderful to speak with. We are planning our next vacation again next year.
We rented this beautiful home to celebrate New Year’s, and from the very first moment it exceeded all of our expectations. The house looks exactly like in the photos, and in reality it feels even better. Everything is brand new, modern, and immaculately clean, which made our stay especially comfortable and pleasant.
The kitchen is very well equipped with a wide variety of dishes and cookware, which was extremely important for us while preparing and celebrating New Year’s. We had everything we needed and more, making it easy to host festive meals without any inconvenience.
One of the best parts of this property is its location. There are no neighbors nearby, which gave us complete privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding nature is absolutely beautiful, with forest views and fresh air that made the stay feel truly relaxing and special.
This home was the perfect place to celebrate the holidays — quiet, cozy, and surrounded by nature. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would happily return again in the future. Highly recommended 🌟🌟🌟
The Red Cottage was stellar! We had a lovely time and were blown away with how nice the place was! It’s warm and inviting, the perfect place to rest and relax after a day on the slopes! It was on the harder side to find but the instructions were clear and once we were checked in it was smooth sailing.
We had a great time staying at the lakeville property! It was a group of moms, getting a nice break for the weekend and it was very peaceful. The hot tub was clutch in this freezing weather. The instructions were clear, house was clean, and beautifully decorated. Would definitely stay there again with family! Would be great in the summer as well with the pool!

The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some good meals and the wood burning stove was a nice touch. Red Cottage was super communicative, especially as our stay coincided with some bad winter weather, and made sure we were prepared. I would definitely stay again!
This cabin was everything we hoped for and more. It was spotless when we arrived and clearly very well cared for, with thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel both comfortable and refined. The beds were outstanding—easily some of the best sleep we’ve had on a trip—and the overall layout made it easy to relax the moment we settled in. It felt cozy without ever feeling cramped, and every space was inviting. One of the highlights was the wood-burning fireplace, which became the heart of our evenings. The setting is absolutely gorgeous—peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature—yet still conveniently close to Belleayre Mountain and several great local restaurants. It struck the perfect balance between a secluded retreat and easy access to everything we wanted to do. The customer service from the property manager was excellent from start to finish! We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing mountain getaway.
