Some friends and I went up to the Catskills for my 30th birthday and I was worried about finding a house that would accommodate everyone. Luckily I found David’s place, which had a room for everyone, an incredible pool, a fitness/yoga studio, a basketball net, a firepit, and a huge lawn for lawn games. Not to mention the kitchen was STOCKED with everything you could possibly need.
When we arrived, we were a bit skeptical because the outside of the place looks a little dilapidated (chipped paint, the porch isn’t in the best shape), but the inside is spectacular. We played games, grilled out, drank wine, and had an incredible time. It was pricey, but split amongst 11 people for 3 nights it was pretty affordable.
We also visited David’s restaurant nearby, Tabla while we were there which was delicious and convenient.
The only criticism I have is that the door with the keypad never locked which felt a bit unsafe. We locked it while we were home, but it was a gamble when we were out.

We had a wonderful weekend. It was super cozy and enough space for up to four people. The outside area was also very nice, especially in the evening with the fairy lights. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and felt very comfortable. It was just a pity that we didn’t know that we had to bring the utensils to get the sauna on ourselves (e.g. kindlings), which we didn’t expect given the price. However, there was a supermarket nearby where we could get everything we needed.
We had the best stay at Perch Lake! The house is beautifully designed and decorated (particularly loved the spacious kitchen, roomy living room, and porch with a view).
The lake is a quick walk down the road and very relaxing (note that the walk in and out of the water is a little muddy so recommend shoes but not required).
We also got great recommendations for local farm stands (Humdinger in Bloomville) and coffee shops nearby.

The house has a great location in the midst of a lot of trees. It’s very peaceful and quiet. The layout is bright and airy, with both public spaces and private spots, if you want to get away. The kitchen is amazing and has the best amenities that I have ever seen. The host was extremely responsive and helpful, both before and during our stay. We were there for a family vacation, but it would also be fantastic for a friends’ getaway. There’s a lot to do in the area. I highly recommend it and would love to return.
This is exactly the kind of cabin set up we would want for ourselves. Rustic with some nice high-end touches. My only comment would be to invest in building a proper outdoor fire pit, instead of a SoloStove. Made it seem like an afterthought. There’s plenty of good spots around the property, and would complete the experience. This is definitely a place we’d enjoy coming back to again! Thanks! ~A
Our stay was absolutely amazing. The house is in great condition, had the right level of amenities and felt like a little oasis. Red cottage’s communication was phenomenal and service was top notch. We’d love to bring our family back. Beds were comfortable and peaceful and space was perfect. Loved the fire pit, binoculars and warm blankets provided. We got to see all kinds of nature, porcupines, various birds, squirrels, etc. Super close to many attractions and 5 min from narrowsburg.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful location minutes from Stowe, great amenities and everything as described. The property is gorgeous and you can see that Andrew and Jayla take pride in it – with good reason. We would definitely recommend this to other couples looking for a great place to unwind and relax.
Fantastic house – it had absolutely everything we could have wanted and more. Large living area, well-equipped kitchens, all 14 bedrooms were comfortable, and the house was very clean. The outdoor space was also great, with the large deck, lawn, fire pit, lake, and boats. Perfect for a large group enjoying a weekend at the lake. A few issues around some miscommunications with the management company but overall a wonderful place to stay.
I was very happy with our stay and especially with Red Cottage’s help during our 3 weeks there. They were very responsive and offered to send someone out as soon as we asked for something.
The place is pretty much as pictured… really pretty glass house in the woods upstate. You definitely need a car to get around but that’s something we knew going into it. I would recommend it for people looking for a break from the city and who want to be in nature.

My husband and I stayed with our golden retriever for 4 days and we enjoyed our stay at this location. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The pictures matched the experience and surpassed our expectations. Felt right at home. We’d definitely recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful environment and want to get from the city.
It was almost perfect and host did everything to make it as comfortable as possible.
Minor issues are
1. For a group of eight persons The main dining table seats only six.
2. Basement has a lot of seating but not enough seating in the family room which is rather small for this size of house.
3. We would have preferred king size beds in master bedroom as it’s not very comfortable for two to sleep on a queen .bed.
The above mention points are just finer points and should not take away the fact the we had agracious and kind host and the beautiful landscape and facilities the house provided.
It’s for this reason I have given five stars.
The Mountain Loft was a great place to stay. The property was as described and is well maintained. It was stocked with all the amenities of home. If travelling during the winter, I’d recommend having a 4WD or AWD vehicle, but the road was very well maintained. There was even a dog bed for our pup.
Just a short drive to Stowe and many restaurants and shops. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’d like to explore Stowe and the surrounding areas.
