Beautiful relaxing cottage in a fairly remote area. Great kitchen with plenty of utensils and up to date appliances. Great outdoor spaces! We used the fire pit, patio and the hot tub at times during our long weekend stay. Very close to the legendary Woodstock site and Bethel Woods Music Center. Beds were comfy with great on suite bathrooms for the 2 upstairs bedrooms. Very cool spot! Would 100% stay here again!
This is a wonderful house! As described, peaceful location. My kids loved the built in bunk beds and there is plenty of space for everyone! All the details are thought of in this house, nightlights, sound machines, dog bowls-we felt right at home. Close location to the outlets and restaurants. Nice neighborhood with a walkable trail to the river, my dogs loved it. Would highly recommended staying here, we hope to be back!
Very charming, bucolic setting. Like the ADKs-Southern NY version. Great nearby hikes. Not many dining options so plan on filling up your gas tank quite a bit and driving 40 minutes just for a meal. Also the cell service is awful in the area in general (not the host’s fault) which made navigation very challenging. Directions never took us the same way twice. But the place is exactly as described and beautiful and clean. Would’ve appreciated some dining and/or grocery shopping recommendations. Luckily there’s a little deli/gas station about 15 minutes away. Other than getting turned around a bunch and driving 47 minutes for a burger, we would definitely go again! Just with a bigger gas budget for exploring the area 😉 great place!
If you’re looking for a private, peaceful place in Vermont then this is it. The cabin is quiet and cozy but the location is special. We spent a lot of time just walking around the cabin. The local area is super nice and isn’t like anything we see around home. This was the exact type of stay we wanted.
Our stay at The Rye House was a dream come true. The architecture is a perfect blend of modern elegance and natural beauty, with stunning wood paneling that adds warmth to every room. The grand picture windows offer breathtaking views, making it feel like the landscape is part of the interior. Every detail, from the spacious living area with its cozy wood-burning stove to the sleek, well-equipped kitchen, is designed for comfort and style.
Outside, the property is a true oasis, complete with an elevated deck, firepit, and a beautiful pool. We spent our days enjoying the property and taking in the stunning views. Although we did encounter a small issue during our stay, the customer service was extremely amazing, quickly addressing our concerns and ensuring our experience remained exceptional. This home is truly a sanctuary, and we can’t wait to return.

It’s difficult to find rentals this close to Perch Lake and we were thrilled with this home. Spacious, beautifully appointed home with stunning views. It was very comfortable. Wi-fi worked great.
There isn’t a microwave-but there is a kettle. Didn’t end up being an issue for us but FYI if you are a big microwave user!
Loved that it is dog friendly as well. We had a lovely week and will definitely rent again next year!

Lovely, comfortable home, close to farms and cultural offerings, with ample space to spread out. Loved the Nordic vibes, clean lines, artwork and fixtures. This home makes the most of its wooded setting, and though we highly recommend it, one should be aware you can hear the rumble of nearby trains and vehicles on the road.
Wow, what a beautiful and comfortable home this is! We had a hard time leaving, it’s such a serene place, surrounded by a curtain of green woods.
David and Kelly answered our every question, quickly and helpfully. The ultimate hosts. Just like in the description, the house is well-provisioned – cooking basics, spices, gourmet coffee, utensils, pots/pans, serving dishes, cleaning and laundry supplies, extra towels and blankets, comfortable beds, high speed Internet, etc. They have thought of everything for a relaxing and comfortable vacation.
And fun! Foosball, an arcade game, a cabinet full of board games, and the big screen TVs kept our kids entertained and happy.

The house was as advertised in the photos. The location was very peaceful and relaxing, especially with the river in the back. Wifi was good (no cell reception) and the bedrooms were cozy. Check in and out was easy. The hosts responded quickly to a question during our stay. The town is nearby, 5 minute drive.
Our favorite part was just hanging out, playing games and enjoying the wrap around porch and hot tub. We loved making many meals in the AMAZING kitchen! This house had everything we needed and much more. We were very happy to find baby gates, a high chair and a great stash of kids plates, bowls and utensils! Lots of closet space and many laundry baskets were helpful. The water provided on every bedside table was a nice touch. Thank you for the complimentary maple syrup and local ground coffee.
We rode our bikes on the rec path and happily came upon a corn maze-right the on the path! This trip, we did the cow tour at the Trapp Family Lodge and loved it. Lunch on the Idletyme outdoor patio (also on the bike path) is always a great choice as was the farmers market on Saturday!
While cooking bacon in the oven, the smoke alarms went off. We got a phone call on the landline from Jaylan within minutes. He was making sure we were safe. Landlines at rental homes should always be provided!

This house was fantastic for our multigenerational / large group stay. The property was incredible for kids with a great tree swing, zipline, pool, basketball hoop and large lawn (as well as ping pong table in the screen porch). It’s a rare listing where the photos don’t do it justice. The kitchen in particular was incredibly well equipped with everything you could need for cooking large group dinners. Would definitely recommend this house for a large family or large group of couples — plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We really appreciated David’s helpful check-ins about the house and the area. One note for visitors is that there is zero cell reception at the house and within about 20 min radius. The wifi was excellent but for those who might be looking to work remotely, this may pose a challenge. Also, I believe dogs are allowed at the home — we did notice a slight dog smell on some furniture so FYI for those with allergies.
The house was a perfect home base for a quiet and active week in beautiful Vermont. Space was ideal and immaculate. Well equipped kitchen provided us with the flexibility to cook certain nights as well. Back deck was a great place to read in the morning and take in the beautiful Vermont air. Fire pit in front was also a wonderful gathering spot in the evenings. Would highly recommend this place and look forward to returning in the future.
Wow, what a treat to be able to unplug (other than enjoying movies at night on the TV of course) and just escape into the peace and comfort of the cabin and surroundings. I barely wanted to leave, it was so nice just sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs enjoying the fresh air and the sounds of outside. The place had everything I could want and more – I slept so well and it felt so nice waking up in the downstairs bedroom feeling like I was surrounded by the forest with the massive windows. I was sad to have to head back to work but would come stay again in a heartbeat!! Thank you so much!
Really enjoyed our stay with our toddler. Great pool and hot tub, beautiful and well stocked kitchen. A magical kids room with bunk beds, an arts table, lots are cool toys good for different ages and interesting books.
Only down side is that it’s a bit far from the main towns in the area like Livingston Manor.
