We were very happy with our stay at Meadow Top cottage! The house was cozy and well appointed, and the grounds were maintained despite snow every day. Our only negative feedback is that the lighting in both of the bathrooms was extremely fluorescent and actually too bright to have on at night! Thank you for having us!
If I wanted a cabin in the woods, this is exactly what I would build. Peaceful location with lovely views of the surrounding woods through the large windows. An architectural gem. Simply beautiful.
Narrowsburg is a few minutes away with a great coffee shop. Honesdale, our favorite, is a cool town about 20 minutes away.

A group of friends and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. We wanted a peaceful, private, and cozy place to watch movies, play games, and have a few drinks. This house was exactly what we were hoping for! It was very cozy and had everything we envisioned for our short trip away from the city.
The kitchen was perfect, as we spent a LOT of time in the kitchen cooking meals. The common area was cozy but the TV setup is outdated. It was difficult to figure out how to work streaming services so we ended up using the HDMI to plug into a laptop we brought to watch movies & listen to music.
We LOVED the jacuzzi but the cover was broken into pieces so it was difficult to put on/take off.
It was difficult to find the house because Google Maps told us to take a back road that ended up having a locked gate. We had to ask a neighbor for directions. The address is difficult to see from the main road.
Overall, I would recommend & would love to visit in the summer so we can use the grill!

This home is the perfect getaway for a group to enjoy. It’s very spacious, has great cozy rooms, the hot tub is a highlight for sure, and there’s plenty of resources and supplies available (towels, blankets, cleaning supplies, etc). I highly recommend booking here if you’re looking to go skiing/snowboarding or in the summer for a small trip. I’m looking forward to booking again very soon!
We stayed at Trails end over NYE and a long weekend. It is located in a private and beautiful area especially at the time we went as everything was covered in snow. The kitchen was very functional and reasonably well stocked. Having an indoor sauna was also a nice plus. One major flaw design in this A frame is that temperature is very difficult to control, due to the high ceilings and wall to wall windows. The split unit heaters also run on one compressor and will all go into defrost mode if the temperature gets too chilly. The wood burning stove in the living room is very effective and was our main source of heat during this trip, otherwise it was difficult to get the temperature above 60-65 degrees. There were some lacking supplies when we arrived that Red Cottage was able to attend to the next day, so while our first night was a bust, Red Cottage did do their best to rectify the situation and make our stay more comfortable thereafter.
We enjoyed the home, it was comfortable, the kitchen was a dream with its size, all the equipment it was well set up to cook for a big family.
Loved the architecture of the home it was very homey and the wrap around deck would be great in the summertime.
The added parking of the garage is nice too in the weather conditions.
The Hot tub and the kitchen were our favorite.
There were games to play and the fire place keeps you extra toasty!

Great little cottage for a ski weekend at Jay Peak – cozy, comfortable, and the communication with the host was excellent. Winter note: the driveway was icy all weekend, so a 4×4 and snow rated tires are recommended. The shower is better suited for shorter guests, and the floor trim near the dining room/master transition was loose. Overall, we had a great stay and would return.
This was our second trip to Stowe and 2nd stay at The Hobble Inn. We love the house and accommodations. 5 minute walk to many great restaurants, and interesting stores, and coffee shop. The home is relaxing with a great cook’s kitchen. Comfortable, roomy, cozy home. 15 minutes to Stowe for great skiing! Highly recommend staying at The Hobble Inn!!
We had a wonderful time at this home in Stowe! There were 8 of us and we felt right at home. Plenty of space for everyone. It is about 20 minutes from Stowe’s resort, but worth the drive as we felt we had a ton of privacy and the surroundings were so peaceful. A private hot tub is a huge plus for the winter as well, so happy to have been able to stay here!
This place is HUGE. Bigger than the pictures. The hot tub is fantastic and the kitchen is to die for. There’s even a wine fridge! The master bedroom has heated floors. There’s even a work space. Plenty of places to sleep. The two leather couches downstairs are futons which is fine but don’t forget to proactively ask for linens for them! The entire red cottage team was super proactive in communication throughout our entire stay and helped us rectify a situation we had and were very accommodating in compensating us accordingly. 10/10 would recommend for a large group of friends or 2 families! They even had sleds and we sledded at night which was super fun. Plenty of towels for bathing and hot tub! Lots of spices and fully stocked kitchen with many appliance (even a coffee grinder and milk frother!). We love Stowe which they are SO close to. The house felt extremely private. Easy access to Stowe mountain for a ski trip.

We had a lovely stay for a long ski weekend. The house is roomy and comfortable, and we enjoyed the multiple living areas to spread out. The open kitchen and large dining table is great for a group, and the bedrooms are comfortable. The location can’t be beat! The host was very responsive in addressing anything that came up.
The cottage was beautiful and spacious enough for our family to relax and enjoy the wonderful winter scenery all around us. We particularly loved the windowed view of the yard where we watched our children play in the snow as we sipped hot cocoa on the couches and listened to music. Very accessible to Phoenicia and the surrounding area. Enjoyed every minute of it!

Unfortunately, this stay didn’t feel worth it when factoring in the price, drive, and location. We encouraged several minor issues, such as issues with the lock, snow piling in front of the windows and back door, and a faulty shower head. However, our biggest issue occurred when we received snow on 2 days of our stay. The driveway is long & steep at points making it critical for it to be plowed in the weather conditions we faced. However, even in light of the season, management only left us 1/4 of a bag of ice melt & one shovel. When we reached out to them to inquire about plowing services or additional snow equipment, we didn’t receive an answer for 27 hours which conveniently came after the automated check-out message. At that point we already shoveled as much as we could & were forced to leave our car the end of the driveway for our entire stay. We administered this feedback to them as well and highly recommend they prioritize experience over aesthetic.

Excellent stay overall. The home was very clean, check-in was simple, and the host communicated quickly and clearly throughout. The view is a standout, and the location is convenient to several great restaurants. Snow was handled promptly with plowing on two occasions during our visit, which was a big plus. We’d happily return!
This is our second year staying at this property and it didn’t disappoint. The pictures do not do it justice, it’s spacious, clean, well-designed and so comfortable. Heated floors (in the new wing) and a wood burning fireplace make it so cozy in winter. It’s a perfect ski house with a generous entry hall to drop all your gear and hang your damp jackets, and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking a great dinner. We stayed with another family and there’s enough room for everyone to have their own space. Tip: Bring your own nespresso pods and some firewood! We’ll be back 🙂
