This was an amazing stay and if you are going to be in the area, you should definitely rent this home- we will be back. The house is lovely- so well appointed- they had absolutely everything you would need. The view is amazing and Red Cottage was easy to work with and always got back to us right away. Probably the nicest place we have stayed in through AirBnB.
Exquisite, beautiful property and house. The grounds are incredible, the area is gorgeous, rural, and quiet. Many details have been carefully and skillfully considered for the interior and exterior. We really enjoyed our stay, which included making breakfasts in the high-end gourmet kitchen, relaxing by the pond, taking sunset walks to visit the nearby cows every night, and stargazing. It’s important to note that getting in or on the pond is forbidden – which is a bummer – and Red Cottage manages communications, which I found a little less prompt, personal, and informed than dealing directly with owners as is customary on AirBnb.
My husband and I couldn’t have imagined a better spot for our 10-year wedding anniversary. The house was beautiful and filled with so many gorgeous antiques/details. The view was spectacular, visible from nearly every room! The outdoor seating on the patio, firepit, and meadow were where we spent most of our time. The wildlife was breathtaking. We had two turkeys fly over our heads, which is a definite first. Stargazing in the hottub was a dream!!! It was so helpful to have the written directions on hand as well as the local shop lists. They do not exaggerate about the road, get a 4×4 for it. The only downside was my fault. I forgot to ask if the pillows were down feathers, as I’m allergic. Luckily, I had antihistamines and the pillows in the second bedroom were polyfill. We’ve only been home for a few hours and are already planning our trip back.
Andrew has a wonderful host and the house is spectacular! You can tell a lot of thought went into the design, build, and decor. I can’t wait to see what they do with the outdoor landscaping. I’m sure it will match the interior at some point. The screened porch was awesome for morning coffee and evening dinners. The beds were super comfy and cool and dark! Loved it! The property is set back off the main road and very quiet. They have really created a lovely and peaceful space!
This place has to be the MOST beautiful Airbnb I have ever stayed at. Five stars doesn’t do it justice. If there was an “exceptional”, “stunning”, “exceeds all expectations” category, this place would be it.
There is nothing I would change about this home. It is simply perfect. And the owners left so many nice touches, from the gift basket that included pet and human treats, towels to wipe dogs feet when coming in, gorgeous high end decor (with crate and barrel dishes), Sonos speaker, a living room with no TV and a family room with a TV (kids had their own place and we had quiet). Communication was immediate and super clear.
We will definitely be coming back and recommend to all our friends.

We were in the area for some family business and took two other couples with us for a quick getaway from Florida and North Carolina. The lodge is as advertised, and then some. The scenery is beautiful, it’s very quiet and private yet close enough to walk to Sam’s across the street and into town. The amenities are great, especially for those who enjoy cooking (that central dining table is awesome for larger groups like ours). Rated five stars because six wasn’t an option. Would definitely do it again.
Very cozy, stylish, peaceful home. They had fabulous books too! We loved the dining area where we would watch the birds in the morning. At night, the entire wooded area was full of fireflies. The fire pit was excellent for toasting marshmallows. Excellent stay!
Everything was absolutely beautiful! My husband and I, along with our 3 dogs, had an amazing time! Everything was very clean and we felt right at home. Having the Mad River just a short walk from our house was amazing, that was definitely our dogs’ favorite part. If I had to pick a negative, it’s that some things were a bit dangerous for our pups. On the deck, the railing has wire running horizontally instead of metal to keep dogs and people from falling, but they’re not very close together so if a dog is small enough they could fall through. Also, the front of the house is higher than the back of the house so there is a huge drop off next to the house. This was not imaged or mentioned in the listing, so we just had to be super careful not to let our dogs near the edge. Finally, I feel that we paid too much for what the house was worth. As beautiful and as incredible as everything was, the price was a bit steep. Everything else was amazing and perfect and highly recommend!
Journey’s End is an absolutely lovely, user-friendly home, set on a spacious, beautiful, and very private spot. Spending time on the patio was heavenly. Everyone, from 2 year-old twins to their grandparents enjoyed themselves immensely. We couldn’t be happier with this choice. Note: the last couple of days of our trip were hot ones (90-degrees and above), but this home was cool as a cucumber, thanks to the well-functioning through-the-wall air conditioning units in all bedrooms and living spaces. All bedrooms have ceiling fans, as well.
Our stay at Moon Meadow was fantastic! The accomodations were welcoming, clean and charming. It was the perfect amount of space to house our two little families and the memories we made will last a lifetime. Although the location was right in the heart of many local attractions, the home itself was quiet and calming, the perfect retreat after a hot day in the sun. I highly recommend taking the trek down the road to enjoy the river. Our kids had a blast playing air hockey and the old school video games, and I loved enjoying my first morning cup of coffee with a view of the mountains.. It was genuinely a little bittersweet to leave this place, but I know we will be back again!
The property management responded quickly to our request to book the home the next day. We had a family emergency to attend to in the area and had to fly across country. The coded entry allowed us to arrive in the middle of the night. We really only slept, showered, laundry, & ate snacks in the home. We never cooked or used the outside facilities because we spent most of our days at our local family’s home & the hospital in Hudson. The house is close to Chatham & Valatie for groceries & eating out. When driving in the area be careful of deer. There are a lot of them. We did get a cool surprise one evening and saw two black bears just 15-20 ft from the home in the backyard. The home has a lot of bugs, but that is expected in such a natural setting. Home was clean. The home was stocked well. I’d suggest an iron & ironing board. If there was one, we couldn’t find it. I’d add a blind in the upstairs bathroom because it faces the street. If available, we will stay again when in the area.
Absolutely lovely! Gorgeous location, easy to get to but just remote enough to be super relaxing, and a beautiful 20 min drive to Hudson for restaurants or shopping. Home has everything you need and the heated pool is such a bonus. The decor is eye candy. The movie theater is super comfy. The garden is peaceful and full of butterflies and chirping birds. At night, the woods in the back of the house light up with hundreds of fireflies. Red Cottage is super responsive and available for any questions. Loved our stay, wish we were there longer.
This is the most gorgeous airbnb I have stayed at, the design of each room is beautiful and the whole house has many entertaining items including games, karaoke, and so much more fun stuff! We all loved the home and had so much fun, the back patio is big and the yard is beautiful, very big and beautiful had a great time, owner was cooperative and the home was easy to find! 10/10! Would definitely go again!
The house was beautiful and exactly as pictured. We loved the view looking out onto the forest and the screened in porch. Feels secluded and calm even though close to Woodstock. Good communication before and after check-in — even when we had an issue with the internet, Andrew was very responsive in helping us troubleshoot. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The tiny home was impeccably clean and thoughtfully designed to maximize the use of space. Despite its size, it felt surprisingly roomy and well-organized.

Cloudborne Cabin is an incredible spot. I was a few days slow in writing my review and I am glad I was. A week after our stay at Cloudborne we stayed at another rental 10 miles away and it paled in comparison. It made me appreciate even more how clean, organized, architecturally stunning and new the place was …in addition to the incredible views. We will be back and recommend it highly. (btw…also highly recommend the Butcher& Pantry for breakfast and Ransom Tavern for dinner at the bar (no reservations needed). Both are very close.
The coziest, most peaceful, rustic vibe! This space was very warm and welcoming. Super spacious to host a large group, but intimate enough for a romantic getaway.
The outdoors, the kitchen, the common space – all provided a vibe that was exactly what I was looking for.
My only complaint was that I didn’t book an extra night to stay!

What can I say, Emil puts the Super in Super Host. My family and I had a wonderful time. We’ve been here 4 times and we just feel at home. The house was comfortable and cool…the deck was so beautiful especially at night!! My granddaughter’s first vacation was fabulous!!! We love this home and everything about it!!
We stayed at Moon Meadow with extended family to attend a graduation. The house is beautiful – top of the line EVERYTHING! We had plenty of space and truly felt like we found the “go-to place” in the Valley for all future gatherings! We will highly recommend this home to anyone heading up to North Conway.
Spent a lovely long weekend with my boyfriend at this lovely place. It’s very private, no neighbors around. And the house itself is gorgeous, exactly like pictured. Amazing kitchen and bathroom, cozy living room and comfy bedroom. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to wind down and relax, you won’t go wrong with this one, highly recommend. The host was super helpful and quick with responses. We had a blast and would gladly visit again.
Cute and cozy cabin. Less than 20 minute drive to grocery and local eateries. Half hour to an abundance of fun activities in Portland. Quiet and peaceful, nice to wake up to birds chirping and seeing so many varieties of fowl. Beautiful sky view, the skylights were a plus. Nintendo and lots of great books to entertain ourselves with one rainy day on our stay. Very attentive staff/owners to any inquiries we had. We loved being able to stay in a tiny home! Very comfortable!
This is my favorite airbnb of all time. Private river access, perfectly curated decor, lush greenery — all incredible! I lived in Vermont years ago, and this spot is a great representation of all the Mad River Valley has to offer in the summer. Even in a forested setting you are close to some of the best pizza (American Flatbread) and beer (Lawson’s) this state has to offer. You can bike, float, paddle, run, or hike all from this spot. Really impressed!!
