We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. The roaring fire, MCM decor, and record playing helped set an incredible relaxed vibe which was just what we needed to unwind. Watching the sunset off the river from the deck was magical, and we had everything we needed for a night in, while also being located right outside of multiple great locations, including Portsmouth, York, Kennebunkport, and Ogunquit. If you are looking for a spacious, comfortable, clean, and quiet stay, the cabin is highly recommended.
Our stay was here amazing! Less than a 10 min drive to Belleayre Mountain for skiing/snowboarding. The cabin was the perfect peaceful getaway! It was clean, well kept, and super cozy! Hot tub was also great after a day of skiing! The owner provides all the information you need for smooth check-in, stay, and check-out! Will definitely be staying here again!
I loved my stay at this cabin! The cabin was nestled in the woods overlooking a beautiful private pond. You can hear water running from the creek as you walk around the property which was so peaceful. Also, Red Cottage was very responsive and extremely easy to communicate. I would definitely stay here again!
The design of the house and the location/surroundings/views are the highlights of an incredibly pleasant stay here! From start to finish, this was a wonderful trip. The host is extremely responsive, flexible, and helpful. The house and the views were exactly as promised and stunning. This house is ideal if you’re seeking some relaxation and isolation. The area is very charming, with friendly people and a few standout restaurants and shops, but it is fairly remote and the nearest towns are quite small.
If you’re looking for some time by yourself or with some good friends to enjoy nature and the views, I can hardly think of a better option.

Beautiful home and location. Pillows were hard so if you like soft pillows bring your own. Was a bit disappointed the fireplace was not available to use as it was very cold and I was planning a romantic evening with my girlfriend so a fire would have been nice. Also surprised that they were charging extra for an early check in and later checkout. Never experienced that before and seems a bit greedy to me. Aside from that everything was great and its a lovely place.
Great stay! Enjoyed the wood burning stove and snowy forest views. Perfect location, quick drive to Chatham and Hudson. Loved cooking in the fully stocked kitchen. Great recommendations in the house guide for local eats and shops. [We especially loved: Berry Farm for groceries, Bartlett House pastries, Morningbird Cafe breakfast sandwich (!), Village Yoga in Kinderhook.] We visited with our baby and the cabin had everything we could need. Place was clean. Coordination with property manager was seamless. Definitely seems like the owners have made some improvements based on past reviews. Thanks for the stay! Can’t wait to come back!
Our family had a wonderful weekend at the house. Quiet, clean and beautiful. Our dog enjoyed the yard and heated floor in family room. The layout was wonderful, fabulous kitchen, we enjoyed the hot tub and hope to book again in summer when pool is open. Was glad to use the garage for car since it snowed! Expresso machine was great too!Needs a teapot (couldn’t find)and vase for our fresh flowers. We enjoyed playing darts and all the space. Thanks so much!
One of the best Airbnb experiences our group has ever had! Gordon was a wonderful host, very attentive and friendly. Hot tub was pristine and the home was perfect for two couples. We felt we had privacy at all times and had absolutely no issues with noise from the upper level. Would highly recommend!
Our group had a wonderful time at this property. The check in and check out was fairly easy. The land itself was great for walking. They had everything we could need for supplies in the kitchen. Great wood stove (with wood on site) and living room area for movies and hang outs. WiFi can go out but it’s easy to reset. Hot tub was great. Clean new and large. Overall would definitely book again.
The description of the property was perfect. As a family, we felt right at home and the photos don’t do the home justice as it far exceeded our expectations. The home was clean and well organized with everything at your finger tips. The location was minutes to Catamount and not far from Butternut. It was also close to Great Barrington which has great restaurants and shops. The kitchen was well equipped to make family dinners and breakfasts. The living room was cozy and the variety of games allowed for a fun family game night. The hosts were responsive and provided clear and concise instruction to check in and check out. Well worth the value. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
