We had an amazing stay at Birch and Buck! The views are incredible and we had beautiful weather. The home is luxurious, clean and equipped with anything you could dream of. Everyone was raving about the place to their friends and family at home. A true hidden gem and would recommend to anyone looking for a gorgeous, peaceful stay in the area! Will be looking for an excuse to come back!
We had a lovely stay. The house is beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable. Convenient to downtown — minutes by car. Close to museums and hiking opportunities. The home amenities are high end with very comfortable furniture and beds and an easy to use Nespresso Vertuo coffee maker. The bathrooms are spacious and sleek-modern in style. Loved the shower in the master! The vinyl record player and the wide selection of vintage 60 & 70s LPs were a surprise treat. Can’t beat Jimi Hendrix on a Saturday morning to get you revved up for a day of hiking.
What a special place. Very rare to find a mid-Century Modern gem by a river in the middle of the mountains. But here it is! Lovely design with house on stilts, filled with light and with forest, meadow and river views from each window. Very serious fire pit overlooking a roaring river, and beautiful strolls on the quiet road in front of the house. Inside everything was clean-lined and elegant, with a perfect sauna and high-quality appliances. Loved this quiet corner of Vermont as well, with sleepy-but-friendly Jamaica village only a few minutes away (with a very well-stocked country store and cute library), un-gentrified cottages and getaways hidden all over, and green green green. Only wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return soon!
This was a fantastic, unique house on a beautiful property. The kids loved the creek and fire pit for smores. The house was cozy and peaceful, but did not lack for updated amenities or comfort! There is not a lot of service in the area which adds to the peacefulness and charm, but the wifi was easy to connect to and had a strong signal. Also be aware that there are limited restaurant options around, but the kitchen is well equipped to make dinner at home. Great hiking nearby and easy access to Stratton mountain among other things. We really enjoyed our stay!
The Lilac Hill house is definitely a 5-star rental. We were 3 couples & a 6-y/o who rented Fri – Sun for a wedding a few miles away. We all recommend the house & would rent again. High points: 1. Mix of antique charm & modern amenities. 2. Well-stocked, modern kitchen w/ large island that was a gathering spot for our group. 3. An incredible view through large windows & sliding doors all along the west side of the house. 4. A fire pit well stocked w wood. 5. Easy commo w/ host. Minor issues: 1. Driveway entrance from the highway is hard to see from a moving car, particularly in the dark; the high grass at the entrance could be cut to make the driveway more visible; an address marker or sign visible at night could make it easier to see. 2. The doors on the 2 downstairs bathrooms didn’t close completely (remained open ~1/16”). 3. An ironing board should be kept in one of the closets, or the house manual should say it’s in the basement, where we found it after much searching.
This is a lovely house surrounded by peaceful woods, with giant windows which bring the outdoors in. Thoughtful architectural touches make this house great for entertaining. It’s spotlessly clean, and a pleasure to be in. 10 minutes to Woodstock, it’s perfectly situated for shopping and restaurants. It’s also 10 minutes to the Ashokan rail trail for running and cycling. Really enjoyed my time here and look forward to returning.
Highly recommend this place! Tiffany did such a great job designing this home and it was perfect airbnb to get away and relax with a group of friends. Tiffany was super responsive and accommodating and put a lot of thought into making Casa Magda feel like a home away from home. The showers were well stocked with organic shampoo/conditioner, there were slippers for the house, a ton of cozy blankets, records, and a great book collections. Our group especially loved the light up disco ball and sound system. Would definitely come back again!
What a delightful experience for the whole family. The thoughtful, child-friendly amenities kept the kids entertained and happy throughout our stay. They absolutely enjoyed every bit of the place. As for the adults, we were impressed by the sophisticated and considerate design details that met our needs and exceeded our expectations. I enjoyed my stay, nice fall getaway. The surrounding area is beautiful! There were more houses on the property than I realized there would be and they were closer together and closer to the road than I expected. But it was still really nice and I had no issues. The house itself was clean and well set up with everything you need. The hosts were also very responsive.
STUNNING remodel, expansive space with every possible amenity (from exercise materials and pantry supplies, to q tips, tea, books and umbrellas). We loved the architecture, the prominent (& stocked) fireplace and the Sonos sound system throughout. Multiple areas to spend time (TV den, music nook, living room and office spaces) plus stylish bedrooms with comfortable mattresses. The location is quiet, peaceful but not walkable. We loved this treat of a stay!
My husband and I stayed here as a getaway to celebrate our anniversary and we were blown away. This is the best airbnb we have ever stayed at by a long shot. They put so much care into every detail to allow for the best experience. Even something as simple as the binoculars provided prove that they want each visitor to enjoy the house and the location to the fullest.

The town of Narrowsburg is so easy to get to and offers great shops and restaurants. We highly recommend going The Heron at least once.
The communication with the Red Cottage was very thorough and timely with clear guidelines and directions. We felt well taken care of the entire time. We will definitely be back!
