Beautiful as always! Thank you!!
This place is a hidden gem.. beautiful house, very clean with all you may need and more.
We didn’t want to leave!
It has all you need to both relax and keep yourself busy with nice hikes and walks among the trees.
It’ s perfectly located away from the noises.
We had a great time, while leaving we started to look up available dates for the summer!
Thank you for hosting us!
This was the second time we’ve stayed here, and we were not disappointed!
What a beautiful place. It feels like home when you arrive – clean, and very comfortable.
The surroundings are gorgeous and the hot tub early in the morning or evening is not to be missed!
Always helpful and responsive- it’s easy to choose to stay here.
The climate controls for inside the house is not particularly self-explanatory, but once you figure it out, it’s fine. Just something for guests to be aware of.
Red Cottage was exactly what we needed to retreat, refresh, and rejuvenate!
House is just as described, exactly as the pictures show. Must be beautiful after a snow fall.
The house is beautiful, clean, and well organized, with clear attention to details to make your stay comfortable.
The property is quiet and was a great place to sit by the fire and watch the snow fall.
Our hosts checked to make sure we had arrived and were taken care of, and were generous to let us stay a couple of hours later to accommodate our schedules.
We can’t wait to bring our family back!
Thank you for the amazing experience! Definitely gonna recommend the place.
This is a truly special place for short or long getaways that will awaken many experiences, both inner and outer. My partner and dog had such a lovely week here, and look forward to staying again for an extended time. The house is seamlessly integrated with its surroundings, making it feel like a personal nature playground. For those that are extra curious explorers, if you walk down the road to the right you will find a hidden path that opens up to the nearby reservoir on the left side of the road. BEAUTIFUL.
The design of the house is rustic eclectic with mid-century accents and familial touches that instantly make you feel at home. We especially loved the amount of light and vistas the high windows let it and the river stones integration. In the fall with all its colors and crisp air, even more. Nature all around 💚 we also appreciated how well equipped it is with with essentials plus some. I would say their accommodations can cater to all kinds of travelers, from couples, to remote workers, artists, families or even for an intimate wellness retreat. The location is fantastic because we are secluded in nature, yet only 15-30 mins away from small towns with local cultural flair or supply runs, or likewise 20-60 mins way to nearby state parks, waterfalls and hiking trails. The drive there from the city was scenic and felt like a breeze.
For those of your with pets, you will especially love this place. I would encourage bringing natural tick protection of being on the lookout for them since they are an abundance of them around the wooded areas. It’s part of natural habitat. The house will also be greeted by ladybug friends from time to time , coming in the send their good luck. We embraced it.
Hosts / Amanda is super responsive with communications, helpful and kind. Do check out their guide for some great recommendations and explore your own! Absolutely loved this stay, thank you for everything 🫶 this is a hidden gem ✨

The Home
The floor-to-ceiling windows really bring the outside into this cabin. Having an open floor plan with cathedral ceilings and a spacious deck just beyond the living room make this an inviting environment for groups. A large sectional sofa faces the wood stove, woodland views, and smart TV for a combination of ultimate leisure. The downstairs closet is full of board games that will entertain the whole family. Full kitchen amenities include a gas range, dishwasher, and microwave for easy at-home cooking, and a midcentury style dining table with room to seat six.
Behind the open living arrangement, the first floor also offers a Queen size bedroom and Bunk (Twin/Full with Twin Trundle) bedroom that both share a full bathroom with a roomy walk-in shower. A King size room is upstairs on the second floor with an ensuite bathroom that features a modern soaking tub, and a work-from-home space overlooking the private, peaceful outdoors.
With 7 private acres to explore, the outdoor space alone can bring all your upstate dreams to life. A swimmable freshwater pond that is 17 feet deep will help you refresh after sunbathing on the deck's chaise lounge chairs. Take a cat nap in the hammocks near the pond or creek, enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub or cool off with a book beneath the freestanding umbrella. There are multiple seating arrangements outside including a dining area for six, and a smaller bistro table for two. Al fresco dining during warmer months is hard to pass up with a gas grill available for cooking, and an outdoor cooler to keep food and drink within easy access. An assortment of outdoor games ensures lots of fun for everyone!
Nestled between the trees beside the pond is a large fire pit where your group can end the day together having s'mores and a nightcap under clear, starry skies. The gentle sounds of a neighboring creek will lull you to sleep when it's time to turn in. Whether it's a quick weekend trip or something much longer, you'll all leave Hidden Pond completely rejuvenated.
If you’re looking to explore the region, some of the best destinations are in Accord (25 minutes away) and Kerhonkson (20 minutes) - we highly recommend Westwind Orchard, Arrowood Farms or Rough Cut Brewing. If outdoors activities are more your speed, Minnewaska State Park (20 minutes) and the lovely Red Hill Fire Tower (15 minutes) are right around the corner!
